How to export your deals for the Reality Check

Most default deal exports omit the Associated Company column. That column is what lets us show how many deals roll up to a company. Here is how to include it.

From HubSpot

  1. 1In HubSpot, go to CRM and open your Deals list.
  2. 2Click Actions and then Export.
  3. 3On the property selection screen, search for Associated Company and add it to your export. Also add Deal Name, Close Date, HubSpot Owner, Amount, Deal Stage, and Pipeline if they are not already there.
  4. 4Choose CSV as the file format and export. HubSpot will email you a download link.
Tip. If you only want open deals, filter by deal stage before exporting. The Reality Check handles all stages but open-only exports give the clearest picture of your renewal book.

From Salesforce

  1. 1In Salesforce, go to the Opportunities tab and open or create a list view of the deals you want to analyze.
  2. 2Click the gear icon and choose Select Fields to Display. Add Account Name, Close Date, Owner, Amount, and Stage.
  3. 3Click Export and choose Export as CSV.
  4. 4The Account Name column is the equivalent of Associated Company in Salesforce. It tells us which account each opportunity belongs to.

Other CRMs

The key column to include is whichever one links a deal or opportunity back to its parent company or account. It may be called Account Name, Company, Associated Company, or Parent Account depending on your CRM. Without it, the Reality Check can still show you owner and date coverage but cannot show rollup gaps.

Export as CSV, then upload on the Reality Check. We will auto-detect your column headers and let you adjust anything before running the analysis.
